Acient Civilization

Do you believe in ancient civilization? You don't? I do...

Cica and I visited Gu Gong museum during CNY. And we found this very interesting pot which was made 5,000 years ago. Yes! 5,000 YEARS AGO! What's so fascinating about this pot? Have you noticed the symbol - 卐? If you have some knowledge about Buddhism, you would know this is the symbol which relates to it. According to history, Buddhism is created only 2,500 years ago by 釋迦牟尼 or 悉達多太子! So why would people already have knowledge about 卐 5,000 years ago? Can anyone explain this? Or simply there are ancient civilizations.

You prob already seen her TVC in HK, China and Taiwan. But... I am not here to show off Cica's new title, but to show off my first editorial job. Yes... I took the picture, and there is my name on the page. Who said my home studio is useless? I have to thank Cica and Gemma for letting me have this opportunity. Keep them coming~ I will work for FREE! Ha....

Long time no been... Mongolian BBQ

If this is not the best Mongolian BBQ in Taiwan, it is certainly the oldest one. I think it has been in business over 30 years. They haven't changed the sign hanging on the wall. According to my parents, the cooks are still the same but just with a lot more white hairs now.














I am not sure if this is how they do it in Mongolia. But, this is the type of BBQ that cannot be found else in Taiwan. Bascially, its like buffet style, you pick your meats, and put on vegetables. On the other side you have all kind of sauces which you pour on top.














Then you line up on the side of the humongous pan, waiting for your food to be cooked. I am sure the pan can allows 4-6 chiefs cooking at the same time. I haven't been to this place for at least a good 15 years. I was happy that I brought Cica here. She recommends it, too oh!

By the way... don't forget to ask for 燒餅! It's the perfect match with the BBQ, and it's FREE! =D

CNY 2008 ~ 日月潭

This is the first time Cica spent CNY in Taiwan. Since we don't have many relatives, CNY in our family is quiet as usual. Our routine is 拜拜 and more 拜拜. We made record this year because on top of 拜拜 in 基隆, we went to another 2 temples in 除夕. That was "fun". Luckily we were able to pay a visit down Central Taiwan to visit some friends from my mom's side, which was quite different. On the way, we checked out 日月潭. I never knew it was that beautiful. Since the winter is very cold this year, there are a lot of 溼氣 and somehow it floats on the lake like clouds, 有點像在仙境似的, 那是一個漂亮啊!

Getting sick is no fun...

Getting sick is not a good sight. It is even worse when my wife gets sick in the hospital and have all kind of tubes running on her hand. 5 days of fever is nuts... I have never spent more than a day in a hospital. Now, I have a taste of it and I certainly would hate to see anyone in the hospital again unless they are having a baby or some sort.
